today i am twenty-six years old. c and i woke up at 4:30 and went to our kundalini class, which was a fittingly silly one, wild free dancing and belly laughing exercises. a typical post kundalini fight, partnered with a hysterical birthday meltdown that was over by 9 (which involved sulking away and treating myself to a delicious matcha latte to soothe my rage and indignation: bonus). tender make up, then delicious breakfast with c and lauren; lauren is such a gem, had me giggling and glowing all through the meal. then c and i went to the crocker museum, were quickly though pleasantly overwhelmed, and packed blankets and pillows to the park and slept for two hours. the weather was unreal, lush-warm january day. soon, wine with friends. i haven’t had a drink since chelsea was in town, mid december. a tall flute of absinthe. sobriety has been wonderful, but it’s my goddamn birthday.
